London in the sun – vintage bedside table
This little nightstand was once a tired piece – but it would have been a shame to give it up. After sanding and repainting, it has a warm, sunny yellow color that works especially well with the vintage London graphic on the drawer fronts.
The London motif evokes old newspapers, cityscapes and the atmosphere of a classic British metropolis. The sunny yellow paintwork deliberately breaks away from the usual London greyness – because who said the sun doesn't shine in London? 😊
The paintwork has a slightly worn look. The original greenish paint layer is visible in places, and some small dents and traces of use have also remained. I did not try to remove these: this makes the furniture not a perfectly restored imitation, but a real vintage piece with a past.
The inner back is made of cork, which with its natural texture further enhances the rustic, vintage character of the furniture.
