Often a painting does not depict a place... but a feeling. 🌅
There are moments that cannot be photographed.
The warm, humid air. The soft rustle of the reeds. The smell of the water. The feeling when you just sit on the shore and watch the sun slowly disappear behind the mountains.
I tried to paint this.
But the most interesting part was perhaps not the brush.
👉 I didn't paint the distant mountain ranges freehand. I tore paper. Each ridge became the contour of a separate torn piece of paper. This is how they got that natural, irregular shape that would be almost impossible to reproduce so organically with a brush.
In the pictures you can follow how a blank canvas became a summer memory.
Which phase do you like the most? The first colors appearing, the paper-tear mountains, or when the reeds finally come to life?
