What did we learn at DekorTrezor's first design fair?
The first fair was held!
Another important moment has come in the life of DekorTrezor: for the first time, we showed our treasures in person at a design fair.

The Hello Piac Design Fair was a completely different experience than showing off a special piece online. Here, you could not only look at the objects, but also touch them, walk around them, ask questions about them – and perhaps most importantly, talk to people about why they like a particular old object.
And in the meantime, we learned a lot.
Not everything at the fair works as we thought it would
When putting together the stand, we naturally wanted to show that DekorTrezor doesn't simply offer old objects.
For example, our furniture is an important part of what we do. A piece of character can completely change the mood of an interior, which is why we brought in some larger pieces.
However, the fair quickly showed that smaller treasures have bigger rewards.
A buyer is more likely to take home an interesting coffee grinder, a special copper mortar, or an old lamp than a larger piece of furniture.
This doesn't mean that furniture doesn't have a place at DekorTrezor - quite the opposite. However, at a fair like this , a piece of furniture with character probably works better as a visual element , and it's worth building a world of smaller treasures around it.
And what were your favorites?
There were pieces that sparked interest almost immediately.
The paintings , old coffee grinders , a special Tiffany lamp , the Korund wall decoration , the matryoshka doll and the copper mortars also found their new owners.
It was nice to see that it's not necessarily the biggest or most spectacular objects that attract people.
Often, it was the small object that stopped them, which at first glance we might not have thought would be such a success. For example, a small painting titled Curiosity, depicting a cute giraffe head: a visitor from Israel saw it, hugged it and said: "He's coming home with me!"
The greatest value of the fair wasn't just the shopping
We talked a lot during the day.
And you can learn a lot more from these conversations than just "I like this" or "I don't like this."
For example, it reveals what items people are missing from their homes , what they are looking for, what old items they would reuse, and what they would be happy to give a new function to.
One of these ideas that particularly stuck with us: Vinyl record holder. 🎶
It seems we're not the only ones who think old objects are worth giving new life to.
And the thinking has already begun on how such a piece could be realized in a way that fits the atmosphere of DekorTrezor.
What do we take away from the first fair?
Maybe it's worth paying attention to what people say.
For DekorTrezor, the goal is not to collect as many old objects as possible, but to find special pieces that have something special about them.
A story. An interesting shape. An old technique. A memory. Or simply that feeling when you see something and think:
“Well, I really need this in my home.”
After the first fair, we see a little more clearly where we should go next.
More smaller treasures. More usable specials. Fewer large pieces of furniture at the fairgrounds. And more objects that have a story – but maybe not quite over yet.
Because when an old object finds a new home, its story doesn't really end.
But it continues.
